It is with great sadness that we advise Heather Constance Birnie passed away peacefully at 6.40am , on Wednesday 19 August 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of her whānau. She was 87 years old.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the kindness, care, and support shown to Heather and to those closest to her over recent months, and especially during her final days. Your compassion has brought comfort during an exceptionally difficult time.
Heather will be deeply missed by her sons, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, brother, friends, and the many people whose lives she touched throughout her time with us. ❤️
Her funeral will be held in Gee & Hickton’s Guardian Chapel, Auty Lane Porirua at 11am on Wednesday 26 August 2026.
The service will be followed by a private cremation.
