David Arthur Connor Carter

CARTER, David Arthur Connor passed away peacefully in Upper Hutt on Friday 10th July, aged 93 years.

Dearly loved wife of Mary (dec) for 62 years. Loved second son of Winifred & Charles Carter (both dec) and brother and brother-in-law of Michael (dec), Mary & John (both dec), Judy & John (dec) – all in England;  Norah (dec) and Bernard (dec).  Loved son-In-law of Eileen & Godfrey (Tim) Healy. Loved Father and Father-In-Law of Gerald & Debby, Christine & Greg, Richard & Kathryn, Paul & Karen, Terry, and John. Loved Poppa of Michelle & Paolo, Stephen & Erin; Samantha & Alexandra; James, Joseph & Matthew; Ashley & Luke.  Much-loved Great-Poppa to Austin, Phelix, Eli, Leon-Joel; Eva & Luka; Giselle; Ed & Theo; Navana; and Cameron. Special thanks to the staff at Heritage Lifecare St. Joseph’s Home of Compassion for their years of care for David. The service will be livestreamed with access available on David’s online profile via the website below.  Messages to the family may also be made via his profile. The Rosary will be recited at St. Joseph’s Convent Chapel, Gibbons Street, Upper Hutt on Tuesday 21st July 2026 at 7.00pm. A requiem mass to celebrate David’s life will be held at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1 Pine Avenue, Upper Hutt on Wednesday 22 July 2026 at 11.00am followed by a burial at Akatarawa Cemetery.
