Józef Tadeusz (Joe) GRATKOWSKI

Passed peacefully on 1 May 2026 at Hutt Hospital, aged 89 years. Beloved husband of Heather and father of David, John (d.2024), Jane, Suzanne and Juliet (d.1966). Dearly loved grandfather (“Dziadziu”), great-grandfather, uncle, father-in-law and brother-in-law.

Born in Poland 1936.  Exiled during Soviet occupation in World War Two and later awarded Siberian Exiles Cross.

Migrated to New Zealand in 1955 where he worked as a stevedore at Port of Wellington for 42 years.

A devoted family man and friend who will live on in our hearts.
