Hugh Macdonald

Died peacefully on Tuesday 28 May 2024, aged 80, at Whitby Care Home, after a period of illness with dementia. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at the home.

Greatly loved father of Nick, Juliette and Vanessa, and loved father-in-law to Alex and Ken; beloved Grandad to Louis, Ari, Safia, Remy, Isabella, Pippa and Lottie; beloved brother and brother-in-law to Mary and Ravi and uncle to his 10 nieces and nephews; earlier, husband of 27 years to Claire.

Friend to many and highly acclaimed film director, he was a brilliant, hilarious, kind-hearted and generous person with a great sense of joy and wonder. Dad, you will be deeply missed.

Gone to Neverland at last.
