Ethel Jean Reid (Jean) nee Brough.
Jean passed away peacefully on 5 December 2025 in her 105th year at Shona McFarlane Retirement Village. Beloved wife of the late John (Jack). Dearly loved Mother and mother-in-law of Annette & Dave, and Phil & Diane. Loved Nana of Matthew and Jane, Jason and Andrea, Debbie and Robin, John (the late), Sarah and Shannon, Melanie and Ben, Dylan and Erin. Loved Great Nana of Ellen and Bernhard, Carlin, Byron, Kiernan, Haydon, Nathan and Chloe, Jack and Emily, Emily and Bella. Loved Great great Nana of Theodore, Mirajane and Elliana. Special thanks to the staff of Shona McFarlane for their love and care that she has been given.
Now in God’s hands and at peace.
A celebration of Jeans life will be held in Cornwall Manor, corner Knights Road and Cornwall Street Lower Hutt on Wednesday 17th December at 1pm. Please feel free to wear a touch of pink, her favourite colour, and if you wish, bring flowers from your own garden — Jean had a deep and enduring love of flowers.
A private burial will follow at Taita Cemetery.
