Jacqueline Totton

Jacqueline Margaret (Jackie), née Thomson, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday 3 December 2025, at Malvina Major Retirement Village in Khandallah, Wellington, New Zealand. Aged 84 years young.

Born 10 July 1941, in Blackpool, England, raised in Dundee, Scotland, and immigrated to New Zealand, along with her parents and siblings, in 1958.

Dearly loved daughter of the late Robert and Gladys Thomson, originally of Dundee, Scotland and Liverpool, England, respectively.

Adored and beloved mother of Sean Lyle Totton, mother and mother-in-law of Craig Thomas Totton and Akiko Miyake, and mother of Kerri Frances Totton.

Treasured sister and sister-in-law of Heather Constance Birnie and the late Frederick John Birnie, sister of the late Lydia Mabel Thomson, and sister of Robert John Thomson.

Cherished aunt of David and Alan Birnie, Ryan and Kyle Thomson, Sharon Scott, Janet Tantau, Carol Patefield, Elaine Buckner, Stephen Totton and the late Nathan Totton.

The family wish to thank Dr. Hilary Ryan of Greytown, Wairarapa for her years of care and support for our mother and express our gratitude to the nursing and care teams at Palliser House, Greytown and Malvina Major, Khandallah.

The family also warmly invites Jackie’s friends and colleagues from Novaplast, Skellerup, Inland Revenue and Fujitsu to attend her funeral service.
