UPWARD, Margaret Theresa (Peggy) (née McCamley)

Peggy died peacefully with Caroline at her side on 15 January 2026 at Aspiring Care, Wanaka in her 91^st year. Loved second daughter of Kathleen and James McCamley of Mayobridge, Co Down, Northern Ireland. Peggy was a daughter of Ireland to the day she died.

Loved and cherished wife of the late John. Dearly loved and proud mother of Caroline, Pauline (Australia), James, Michael (Canada), Adrian (Australia) and Charlotte (Australia). Loved and respected mother-in-law of Peter, Bob, Rebecca, Tammy and Angela. Greatly loved Granny to Anna, James; Aaron; Victoria, James; Alexandra, Adrian; Jessie, Isabella; Sophie; Mathew, Sarah; and adored Great Granny to 18 great grandchildren. Treasured lifelong friend of May Kelly and Mary Wells (UK), and ‘second mum’ to Teresa Crosbie.

We feel blessed that Mum is at peace and reunited with our beloved Dad.

Peggy’s family invite you to her Requiem Mass at St Josephs Catholic Church, Pine Avenue, Upper Hutt at 11am on Friday 23 January 2026, followed by interment at Akatarawa Cemetery. A Vigil Service will be held at Villa Joseph Chapel, 17 Gibbons Street Upper Hutt, 7pm Thursday 22 January.
