Gillian Burke

Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on 26 September 2025 at Te Omanga Hospice, Lower Hutt, aged 65. Cherished wife of Peter and treasured mother and mother-in-law of Tom and Alisa and Josie and Brett. Gill was the beloved sister and sister-in-law of Judith and Paul, and adored aunt and great-aunt of Hester and Michael, Isabel and Daisy. The family wish to sincerely thank all who have offered love and support, and the Te Omanga staff who cared for Gill with great compassion and skill.

Gill’s loss is deeply felt and she will live forever in the hearts of her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nourish Trust and/or the Leprosy Mission. Family donations will be made to the Cancer Society and Te Omanga Hospice. A celebration of Gill’s life will be held at St Ronan’s Church Eastbourne on, 6 October 2025 at 1.30pm.
