Marian Christine Jongepier

Born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands on July 3^rd, 1948.  Passed away peacefully into her loving Saviour Jesus Christ’s eternal presence and glory, at Te Omanga Hospice on April 12^th, 2025, after a courageously fought battle with ovarian cancer. Much-loved wife, and loyal best friend of André for over 53 years. Treasured Mum and Mother-In-Law of Amanda and Francis; Kirsten and Nigel; Fiona; and Ian. Beloved Oma to Cody and Paycee; Aaron; and Emmerick. Loved daughter of the late Willem and Truus Meister; sister and sister-in-law of Henk (d) and Yvonne; Els (d); Anton and Eke; Reyn and Monica (d) and Marijke; and Wim (d). Loved aunt of all her nieces and nephews in New Zealand and the Netherlands. Loved and respected ex-colleague, friend and counsellor to many, far and near. A service of thanksgiving for Marian’s earthly life will be held in the Reformed Church of Wainuiomata, 98 Wainuiomata Road, on Thursday 17 April 2025 at 11.00am, followed by her interment at Akatarawa Cemetery, Upper Hutt at 2.15pm. Psalm 121 was Marian’s go-to psalm for comfort and assurance. Marian’s family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Anne O’Donnell and her team at the Wellington Blood and Cancer Centre for their unstinting support and care. A special thanks also to the doctors, medical staff and host of volunteers at Te Omanga Hospice for their dedicated care, love and support throughout.
