Dr Rex PERERA
Born 9th May 1938 – Passed away peacefully on Thursday 12th June 2025, aged 87, surrounded by his loving family at Bob Scott Rest Home, Petone.
Dearly loved husband of Sunethra. Treasured father of Roshan, Travis, and Ashleigh. A kind and dedicated man who devoted over three decades to the Petone community as a much-respected GP from 1973 until his retirement in 2005.
A funeral service will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 41 Britannia Street, Petone on Wednesday 18th June at 12pm with a burial at Akatarawa Cemetery to follow.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to all the carers, nurses, and Doctors Anu and Kirsten, at Bob Scott Rest Home, for their loving compassion and care. Special thanks also to Lina, Dr Glynis, Krishani and Jayasiri, Chandrani and Premasiri, and Marlene and Mike, for their unwavering support and love.
A life of quiet service, gentle wisdom, and deep love. He will be dearly missed. May he rest in peace.
Rosary will be recited at Sacred Heart Church, Brittania Street, Petone, Tuesday 17th June at 6pm.
