Fred Smits

SMITS: Alfred Paul (Fred, Mr Strider); On November 30, 2024 peacefully at Hutt Hospital with his family at his side, aged 75 years.

Fred is survived by his devoted wife and soulmate Elisabeth, his much-loved children Carsten and Penny, Madeleine and Andy, and Vincent and Rochelle and his cherished grandchildren John, Gabriel, Kaylah, Ella, and Astyn.

Fred’s family extends heartfelt thanks to the dedicated medical teams in both Germany and New Zealand for their exceptional care and support during Fred’s final days.

A funeral service for Fred will be held in the Silverstream Retreat, 3 Reynolds Bach Drive on Monday December 9, 2024 at 2.00pm, thereafter private cremation at Akatarawa.
