Rod Walsh

Rod Walsh, (Roderick Mark ) – 22 October 1954 – 22 January 2024, 69 years young.

Dearly loved husband of Jenni for 40 years. Devoted and loving father and father-in-law of Gemma (Melbourne), Alana and Rikki (London), Ben & Kate (Perth) & Ashleigh and Matt (Auckland). Doting grandfather to Cami (almost 2) and was eagerly awaiting the birth of Stevie in April this year. Loved only son of Marlene and John Walsh (deceased 2001), much loved son-in-law of Phyllis & Barry Jenness.

Tragically killed in a mountain biking accident on 22nd January in Auckland. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him, especially the mountain bike and motorbike crew he knew so well.

Nicknamed “Rocket Rod” so many years ago, he lived life to the max, but always lived it with friends and family.

A celebration of Rod’s life will be held at Cornwall Manor, Cnr of Knights Road and Cornwall Street, Lower Hutt on, Wednesday 31 January 2024 at 10.30am, followed by a private cremation.
