Passed away peacefully in Wellington (formerly of Upper Hutt) surrounded by family on Saturday 25th April 2026, after a long illness. He is at peace now. Dearly loved husband of Miriam. Dearly loved father and father-in-law of Chris & Viera, Aidan & Jason, Regan & Paz. Grandfather of Tara, Adam, Liam and Ethan. Son of Shelagh & Joseph, and brother of John, Brendan; and Joseph, Michael, Gregory, Gerard, Peter and Kieran (all deceased). The family would especially like to thank the amazing staff at Te Hopai Care Home for their care and dedication. A Requiem Mass for Gavin will be held in St Joseph’s Church, 156 Brougham St, Mt Victoria, Wellington, on Friday 1 May 2026, at 12.00pm. Followed by interment at Akatarawa Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited in the above-mentioned Church on Thursday 30 April 2026, at 7.00pm.
